Corra Boost Fund helps Bumps with storage

One of our pressing projects this year has been to secure storage for the donations that become our 'Helping Hands'. Until now, our team have been storing the very generous donations of clothing and equipment in our homes, garages and sheds, and sorting out what we have before advertising the items available. Sometimes taking stock of what we have available to give out has been time consuming, with so many locations to find the required items.

However thanks to the Corra Boost Fund, we have now been able to set up a storage facility where we can bring all of our donated items together for sorting and redistribution, which should improve our stock availability and delivery turnaround, a 'next level' development for us.

So we recently picked up the keys to a storage container. This unit is thermally lined which should prevent any condensation spots.

Storage Container

We soon set about getting the storage ready to get to work, but first we needed some shelving.

Shelving is delivered

With the shelving on site, and some spare time to set it up, the shelving was built and made ready to take our donations.

Shelving is ready

With the shelving now in place, our next job is to bring the donations to the site and sort them out into sizes etc.

Shelves ready to accept stock

Donations will be centralised here, with the process of bringing the donations to his location in progress.

Another view

Our next task here is to sort out these donations to maximise space and offer them up. We still have some other donations to bring, and we hope that this development will assist in getting help out there in a more efficient way.

Many thanks to Corra Foundation and their funding partners, without whom this project would not have been possible.

Funders

The Boost Fund is a partnership between STV Children’s Appeal, Comic Relief, Foundation Scotland, and Corra Foundation, and is supported by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
