About Us

The original idea.

Clackmannanshire Bumps & All started out as a very simple idea of forming a peer to peer support group for anyone caring for Clackmannan’s children: whether as family, friend or through employment.

So I started asking people in Clackmannanshire what they thought of the idea of starting a group that met up for a cuppa and chat where the focus was on the adult. I was overwhelmed with their responses. Everyone I spoke to thought it was a great idea, including Clackmannanshire Council's Child Wellbeing Partnership (CWP), who invited me to a meeting to see if they could help in any way. We soon had a small grant as well as toys and equipment provided by the CWP, who offered their wholehearted support. Their help was gratefully accepted and the Clackmannan Bumps & All group was set up.

Clackmannan Development Trust offered us a venue, the Bruce Lounge in Clackmannan for our “Cuppa and Chat” session, and we started our first session in October 2024. We soon however rapidly outgrew the space. They again came to the rescue and offered to finance the use of Clackmannan Guide and Scout Hall near to Clackmannan Primary School for us. This hall has become our Clackmannan home and the Guiding staff are also very kind and generous to us.

We have an online presence on Facebook where we have a large community of people who can request or give donations to the group or to each other. This community and our WhatsApp chats allow members to also socialize with each other, often helping those with anxiety issues to develop the confidence to attend a “Cuppa and Chat” session at some point.

In July 2025 we completed the process to become a Scottish Registered Charity which opened up many opportunities to help improve what we can do. We have been using any grants we receive to increase the reach of the help we can provide as well as hopefully organise some experiences that families might not get the opportunity to have otherwise.

We have recently set up our weekly Alloa “Cuppa and Chat” and have found our Alloa home in the O.A.P. Welfare Hall beside Greenfield Park. The gentleman who takes care of the hall has also been generous with his support.

Both our Clackmannan and Alloa “Cuppa and Chat” sessions meet in a wheelchair accessible venue which has a disabled bathroom. We have also provided a height adjustable changing table. We welcome everyone including any single parents male or female, we don’t care about age, religion, nationality, etc., if you care for children you are more than welcome. We also try our best to ensure we always have a snack available that meets any special dietary needs.

We provide our “Helping Hands” bags to anyone who can use the preloved toys, clothes and equipment that are donated by our amazing Clackmannanshire community. In our first year of providing these, we supplied 317 bags. We also provide the local Health Visitor Team with any help they require for local families, some local schools and nurseries as well.

In 2026 we are aiming to continue raising the community awareness of our charity as well as increasing the number of groups, charities and establishments we can help support. We have a few projects that we are working on, and we are also hoping to start a new “Cuppa and Chat” session, hopefully in the Hillfoots where there is also a need for the in person peer support.

We organise affordable events throughout the year such as Craft Markets & fun days with lots more planned for 2026.

On December 21, 2025, we had the huge privilege of hosting a Free "Breakfast with Santa" for 20 local families. Our event had a non-fussy menu so that there would be something for everyone to eat, even the fussiest of eaters. The fact we didn’t charge for the event meant it was possible for everyone to experience the fun of meeting Santa and getting to spend a little time with him chatting at the family’s table. Of course we had Mrs Claus there overseeing everything.

Our group's motto:-

Let’s make caring for Clackmannanshire’s children easier for each other”.

Agnes Neeson.

We have open ears and minds. We want to make Clackmannanshire a county where carers of children don’t feel alone, where hardship can hopefully be eased to some degree and in doing so via Helping Hands not only do people have what they need, we are doing our little bit to help save the environment too.
